Attach your payslips even if the administrator promised a summary certificate. The agency needs something to calculate from, and your own copies save weeks.
It surprised me that after applying the company was no longer my debtor for those months. The debt still exists — someone else now collects it.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How much is actually paid? ▾
The benefit equals the net pay that results when gross pay, capped at the monthly contribution assessment ceiling, is reduced by statutory deductions. Above that ceiling the calculation is not based on the full salary.
Why is it calculated from net pay? ▾
Because the benefit replaces the wage that would have been paid out. Taxes and contributions run separately in this procedure, so compare the figure with your usual net pay rather than the gross in your contract.
What happens to my claim against the employer? ▾
Claims to pay that give rise to the entitlement pass to the federal agency when the application is made. In the insolvency proceedings those amounts are then filed by the authority rather than by the employee.
Is the administrator certificate required? ▾
It is needed for the calculation and is usually produced by the administrator from the existing bookkeeping. The application does not depend on it, though: file in time first, documents after.
